Eleanor Sikorski
Artistic Director and Performer
Eleanor (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, filmmaker and comics artist.
Eleanor (b. 1988) grew up in South East London and studied contemporary dance at London Contemporary Dance School (2006-10). She lived in Nottingham 2018-21 and now lives in Leeds.
After graduating she participated in collective projects with other dance artists: Trumpet Creepers Improvisation Ensemble, Hiru Dance Organisation and BELLYFLOP Magazine.
Since 2015 she has worked as part of Nora with dancers Flora Wellesley Wesley and Stephanie McMann, inviting choreographers to make new work for them to perform.
She has been making and touring (mainly) solo choreography since 2011. Her work spans performance, comedy, music, dance and cabaret. She has been commissioned to make a graduation piece for students at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds, 2022.
She has worked as a dancer for several choreographers and artists: Seke Chimutengwende, Eva Recacha, Igor and Moreno, Karl Jay-Lewin, Else Tunemyr, Dog Kennel Hill Project, William Hunt, Jenny Moore, Alex Reubens, Alexandre Achour, Gillie Kleiman/Sara Lindström, Tino Sehgal, Joan Jonas, Fernanda Muñoz Newsome.
Her film work involves collaborating with artists to support their projects in different ways: devising, filming, editing, documenting the process or contributing to the research. She has worked with artists Es Morgan, Sue MacLaine, Greg Wohead, Seke Chimutengwende, Feet Off the Ground and Nora. She was commissioned to make a film with 3rd yr students at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in April 2020 via Zoom.
Between 2018 and 2021 Eleanor was associate artist with Dancing Museums II.
Since 2019 she has curated Roadhouse with her partner, dance artist Lewys Holt.
In 2020 Lewys and Eleanor started Two Left Feet, a YouTube show about dance and politics.
Other activities have include teaching dance and composition and co-facilitating intergenerational performance projects with artist Sue Mayo.
